Ever since I heard about this event, though, I've racked my brain to come up with the perfect hypothetical outfit. If someone invited me to a tailgate wedding, what would be appropriate attire? It needs to be serious enough to reflect the sanctity of the occasion, but at the same time casual enough to keep you comfortable during a night game. And when your school colors are blue and white, do you still need to observe the old "only the bride wears white" adage?
It's quite the conundrum. Ultimately, it seems like a good time to pull out the "better quality" UK items that you've received as Christmas presents. The UK plaid seems appropriate, as does your very nicest UK sweatshirt -- maybe the Columbia polar fleece or the embroidered Nike one. I'd still stick to blue-- let the bride have the honor of wearing the white sweatshirt!
I also think it's a great time to pull out the more "blinged" stuff. Sapphires would be appropriate. So would fancy blue shades or even those blue Tory Burch flats about which I've expressed some misgivings. And you can bet that, if I were the bride, I'd be searching high and low for an old-school sequined wildcat sweater from the Dawahares Mamaw collection (you know the one!) to commemorate the event.
The Kentucky Girls extend best wishes to the Blue Lot couple. Go Cats!!
