The Kentucky Girls extend their deepest condolences to the family, friends and fans of Wildcat legend Mike Casey. Mr. Casey passed away at Vanderbilt University Medical Center earlier today. He was Mr. Basketball in 1966, and is the ninth leading scorer in UK Men's Basketball history. Coach Rupp once said "Casey was the best money player I ever coached. When there was money on the table, you wanted Mike Casey to have the ball in his hands."
Former Coach Joe B. Hall said of Mr. Casey's passing, after a prolonged battle with heart failure,"We feel like it's a great loss to our Wildcat family ... We remember his courage and his fight. He carried on just the way he did on the floor."
Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to all who loved Mr. Casey.
